urbanorder architecture is a design firm dedicated to reviving, reusing and rethinking architecture.
Services include new home design, renovations, additions, historic reuse consultation and construction management.
The firm was established in 1997 by architects Steve Hurtt and Dean Berlon to focus on their interest in architectural design and historic preservation and reuse. Over the years the firm has specialized in designing projects with the character and quality of the past while accommodating today's lifestyle. The firm's philosophy is that each project should reflect the personality of the client and that every detail is important.
The firm works out of two offices. Both offices exemplify the partners' work ethic and strive to create unique solutions for every project. The firm's original studio, urbanorder architecture, is located in the heart of the Short North neighborhood, a National Historic District just north of downtown Columbus, Ohio. It focuses on residential and commercial properties around central Ohio. The firms' other studio, Berlon/Hurtt Architects, is located in the rolling hills of the Brandywine Valley, just south of Philadelphia. It focuses on the residential and historic properties of the surrounding Pennsylvania area.
